The Newton Wave Pool has been thrilling children and adults for about two decades with wet and exhilirating fun. A contained waterslide even briefly exits then returns through the building's wall! Newton residents are actively involved in strategic planning of their community. In 2008 a Newton Community Forum was held to receive input from the Newton and Surrey BC population. Feedback from Newton residents indicated they are most interested in enhancing out door park areas and protecting the natural areas in the community that currently exist. The concept of a nature preserve similar to that in Richmond, and further development of walking and bicycling trails in Newton were discussed.
